Happy New Year to all my loyal blog readers! I hope you all had a happy celebration.
I rang in the new year at Kelly & Mikes wedding at the Franklin Institute. Was my first new years wedding and it was great to be a part of the party.I’m not one that is much for resolutions but I do have some goals and reflections.
2011 was a great year and a heartbreaking year for me. I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot this past year. I’m excited to move on to 2012.
One of the things I haven’t done enough of is create images for myself. Its one of my goals for 2012. I love going out to shoot landscapes, urban landscapes and just candid street photography. I haven’t done that for myself in a long time and in 2012 I am going to take some time to do that on a regular basis. A lot of you have requested an art gallery that you can purchase my art prints from and I will have that in place and available this year.
I have a lot of plans for the business as well. I realized this year that I spend too much time in front of the computer. Its hard to let go of certain things when your work is so personal but I’ve been putting a few things in place that won’t make handing these things over so hard. I let myself get so busy that I didn’t have time for family and friends. These things are very important to me so its a number one priority in 2012.
I ran my first 5k in November and I plan on running more in 2012. It was a great experience and sense of accomplishment. I used to hate running, who knew?
2012 I am excited to see you on my doorstep. You are a welcome sight. Its going to be a great year, I have a lot planned for you.
Below are some of my personal images, I hope to share many more with you in the future.
Happy New Year everyone!

Happy Monday everyone! Coming back this week from a little week’s vacation. My brother and his girlfriend were in town visiting so I have been busy playing tour guide and in charge of relaxation time.
Not bad for a little much needed vacation.
Thought I would welcome you all back this Monday with a fun spur of the moment shoot I had with my brother yesterday before we sent them off.
He bought these giant Reese’s cups in NYC at the Hershey store on Times Square in the hopes we could do some kind of fun shoot with them.
The wall in my dining room proved the perfect spot. Enjoy and I am not responsible for your cravings for peanut butter and chocolate today. 🙂

Many of you know by now that last week we lost our dog Alma. We had just arrived in California when we got a call from Don’s mom that Alma had wandered out of her sight and was lost. After a long search she was found down the road, hit by a car. Her back was broken and we had no choice by to make the call and end her suffering. We know in our hearts that she was out determined to find us. She has never strayed from the yard or attempted to go down the driveway to the road. All we can think is that she was following Don’s sent and the trail that he runs along.
It was a very tough week being so far away. We were in California for our good friends wedding, Don a groomsmen and me the official photographer. We were lucky to be surrounded by friends and family all week.
It is our first day home and this cold dreary rainy day describes how I feel today. The house is empty and I feel empty.
Don had Alma since she was 8 weeks old, she would have been 15 this May. Alma was in my life for only six years but our bond was very strong. We would always joke that she was my dog, as she was always by my side anywhere I went, she lived for me and I for her.
We will always have happy memories of Alma, though its hard now. I miss her grogginess in the morning, her talking yawns, all her old woman behaviors. Most of all I will miss our hugs, her ever so exciting greetings when we would come home, jumping around yelping barking and bounding around the house like she was a puppy again. Her excitement when sitting to get a treat and her cute paw shakes. She was a loyal companion in every sense of the word.
She certainly was much much more than just a dog to us. She was a best friend, a member of the family.
She was a Hungarian sheep dog, a Puli, for those of you who haven’t seen many dogs like her. She was the first one I ever met.
