Kyle & Andrew, NYC engagement Shoot

We had a wonderful afternoon with Kyle and Andrew in NYC.  They are both from the Philly area but are living up in NYC so we wanted to do the engagement shoot up there.  These two have been dating on and off since they were in high school, they went to the same college and ended up in all the same places.  It was always meant to be. Andrew proposed on the top of Mt. Machu Picchu in Peru last year and the wedding is set for next May!  Congratulations you guys.

Peggy & Steve, Fairmount Park Engagement Shoot

I had a wonderful afternoon with Peggy & Steve.  They both just finished school and are set to graduate…tomorrow actually…from law school.  Peggy from Temple and Steve from Rutgers.  Congratulations Dr. Peggy & Dr. Steve, sounds good huh? They have a small window of rest before settling in to study for the bar so this was the perfect time to get their engagement session in.

They live in walking distance from Fairmount park so we started out there.

Christina & Rich, Philadelphia Engagement Shoot

Christina and Rich are not my “normal” couple.  It seems like each year I get to shoot one of my good friends weddings and this year it is Christina’s turn.  Christina and I worked together at Drexel for almost five years which at this point is almost five years ago! We shared an office, we met everyday before work at the train station and went to the gym together, we did may things outside work as well.  I guess I am saying for almost five years Christina and I spend A LOT of time together. She was there for me as support starting up my Photography business, sometimes fighting with me on who took the lab camera out on the weekends… 🙂  (Hey it took me a while to save up for my own first grown up digital camera..)  All good fun.  So what I am saying is she has been a fan and friend since the start.  She knew back then that she would have me photograph her wedding….one day….. So this winter when she told me the news I couldn’t have been more happy for her (and even happier that I had the date she wanted for her wedding available)!

Christina is very involved with her church, she is a fabulous interior designer and an amazing athlete.  She has very high standards and especially when it came to finding a life long partner.  I always knew she would find someone wonderful, it may have been a long road or what seems to have been a long road but she finally found Rich or I should say they found each other.  Rich is a very lucky man to have Christina, they are a great match for each other.

I knew I would spoil Christina a bit for her engagement session, but it was also me wanting to spend the day with these guys.  And did we spend the day!  We started out in Media at the coffee shop down from Christina’s house and then wandered a bit of her Media neighborhood.  After that we headed into the city, had a picnic lunch behind the Please Touch Museum before going into the museum for some play time.  We ended in Old City, took some photos, had a great dinner and took some more photos before rounding out the day at the Franklin Fountain.  Quite the day!  But Christina deserved every minute of it. I am so happy for her.

I will be even more excited to see her in November walking down the isle to marry Rich! I hope my auto focus works properly because I will be balling my eyes out with happy tears.

Enough enough already, there are waaay to many photos here to look at.

Their engagement session was my first time meeting Rich and he is a real charmer.

undefinedAren’t they adorable?
undefined
Christina is also a great dancer, she does a lot of swing dancing, so she is teaching Rich and he is catching on nicely.undefined
I loved how the azalea’s looked like a heart.  awe!undefinedundefined
We had a lovely picnic.undefined
The room is closing in on you!!!!undefined
We had much fun playing at the Please Touch Museum.undefinedundefined
I found out that Rich is a real goof ball…..and I love it!undefinedundefined
It is off to Old City now! (Um yeah we went all out and all over the place for this engagement session. I spoiled Christina and Rich a tad, but  I am allowed.)undefined
A favorite.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
Getting a little old school in old city.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
As you can tell by now I couldn’t narrow down very well for this session….. We shot so much at many locations and with Christina being such a close friend it was hard!undefined
This is one of my favorites.undefined
We had a lovely dinner and then one more outfit change for some shots at Penn’s Landing.undefinedundefinedundefined
And because we totally deserved it a hot fudge sundae from the Franklin Fountain. Perfect ending to the perfect day!undefined The end, well the beginning really.  I had so much fun with you guys. So excited for you.

Angela & Charlie, Philadelphia UPenn Engagement Session

I had a lovely afternoon with Angela and Charlie.  They both went to UPenn, they were a year apart, but they never knew each other during that time.  They met in San Fransisco of all places.  Funny how these things happen.  They have mutual friends.
For their engagement shoot we decided to re-visit the campus.  They each have their favorite spots and of course the day was planned around food…food trucks. It was also a great opportunity to make new memories on campus together.

We started off at Angela’s favorite truck.

undefined
Then we explored the campus.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
They may not live in Philadelphia at the moment but it holds a special place for both of them.undefinedundefined
Charlie lived in the quad for part of his UPenn life and really wanted to visit it again. Thanks to a wonderful trusting student for signing us in!undefinedundefined
Then to a campus icon, the dueling tampons.  Yep, you read that right. Anyone who went to Penn knows it well.undefined
We randomly happened upon a petting zoo on campus.  So we said hello to the animals.undefinedundefined
Next up was Charlies favorite truck!  We all got egg sandwiches with different toppings and I have to say it was pretty awesome. Those rolls are amazing.undefined
We grabbed the picnic basket and found a nice spot to have lunch #2.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
To end things it was time for Charlie to get a new t-shirt!undefinedWe had a great time!

It was wonderful to see you guys and I look forward to seeing you in June!

Lisa & Nam, Philadephia Engagement Photography

I had a blast with Lisa and Nam on their engagement session.  Lots and lots of laughing at ourselves and each other, what more could you ask for?
I am very much looking forward to their wedding in May.  It will be my first Buddhist ceremony.

We started off the session with their pooch Buddy.  He is a little over a year old and VERY playful.

undefinedundefined
Then it was off for the real deal engagement photos. undefinedundefinedTo get Nam loosened up a bit I made him run with Lisa. 🙂undefinedI LOVE this one.  I think its my favorite.undefinedundefinedThis is a good representation of the “laughing at ourselves” comment. Its not really in their nature to act on the romantic side of things so in the direction for this photo they just started cracking up at each other, which I quite like.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedA little visit from the geese.undefinedWe ended at 30th street station since this is where the relationship began long ago.undefined

Thank you guys for a lovely afternoon and in trusting me through all the things I asked you to do! See you in a month.

Meredith & Chris, Philadelphia Engagement Shoot

Right before Christmas I met up with Meredith and Chris for their engagement shoot.  When they first came to meet with me Chris pointed out to me that we had taken a class together and worked on a project in one of our information systems classes when I was starting the masters program at Drexel.  Crazy how small the world is!  (Maybe you are surprised to know that I was pursuing a masters degree in Information Systems?  Yep, when I worked at Drexel I took advantage of tuition remission and completed a year in the program.  LONG story short I came to my senses and decided Information Systems was not for me and that I needed to concentrate on getting my photography business off the ground.)  Chris did complete the masters program and is working in the field now, major props to you Chris! Finding out we had a connection in the past certainly helped us decide we were the right fit for this “wedding project”.  🙂  Chris and Meredith are adorable, from being a little shy, the love of baked goods, teddy bears and good food we found our groove.

I met up with them after church in South Philly and after recently seeing a feature of Termini brothers on the news, none of us had ever been there, we decided to take a little walk and go get some baked confections.

I am happy I am done editing these images because I get hungry every time I look at all the tasty baked goodness! Termini Brothers is hands down the BEST chocolate chip canoli I have EVER had.
I enjoyed their holiday packaging as well.

MMM, yummy goodness in hand.
These two have an extensive collection of teddy bears.
The “family” photos.  Too cute.

I love this image! Nice little genuine moment caught.I told Meredith to surprise Chris, we found his expressions hilarious.  🙂

Then it was Chris’s turn to surprise Meredith, he wasn’t as nice.

You guys are adorable, I enjoyed our afternoon together.  Can’t wait to see you again in May!

Emily & Navid, Old City & Italian Market Engagement Shoot

I can’t say enough about Emily & Navid.  This was my first time meeting Navid but Emily and I had been in touch numerous times and just hit it off from the start.  Just from seeing how Emily talked about Navid in our meetings I knew she was head over heels for this man.  Seeing the two of them together, wow, you just see the love pouring out of them.  They are naturals in front of the camera and it was such a pleasure to photograph them.  There are times when more direction is needed but in this case I felt like a bystander just documenting. Navid has such a charming yet sarcastic (this is very good) quality about him, he made me laugh the whole time. I’ll let the pictures do the talking now….

Loved Emily’s vintage dress and she wore her grandma’s shoes.

They met online and Emily’s tag line was that she preferred pink carnations to red roses.
Love
Seriously, you can feel the love.
Navid saying, hey where’s my ring? The girls get all the bling.
practicing a little waltz
Who doesn’t love throwing up some leaves?
We headed over to the Italian Market to pick up some goodies for dinner.
Don’t even think about shoplifting from this store.
Emily’s engagement ring is a pink sapphire.
I think I may be a bit spoiled with my couples cooking for me!  Such a yummy meal and fantastic company.  Thank you guys! I may need some Emily and Navid time before the wedding in October!  I don’t want to wait that long till I see you guys again. 🙂

Jennifer & Dan, New Hope Engagement Shoot

Jennifer and Dan get this years award for quick action.  They booked me, scheduled their engagement shoot and we shot their engagement shoot all in two weeks time!

Aren’t they an adorable couple? They will be my 09-10-11 couple next year!

A little artsy
Love this one.
Makes me smile
I had never been to this little footpath bridge in New Hope, it was really cool.
Dogs are a big part of the family, so they needed their camera time too!  They moved so fast!
No hot dogs were harmed in the making of this shot.
Adorable little family.I love how yellow all the leaves were this year!

another favorite
We only did a little trespassing to get this shot.  This is someone’s driveway!  Can you imagine coming home everyday to this scene.  Amazing.
Congrats you guys!  I had a lot of fun with you.

Dana & Alec, Old City Philadelphia Engagement Shoot

I had so much fun with Dana & Alec!  We spent the afternoon/evening in old city taking some pictures and then celebrated with beer and muscles at Eulogy!

I met them at their apartment first so we could grab a few shots with their pooch.

We started at Chloe, the scene of their first date. The owner of Chloe was so nice to let us in before they opened so we could grab a shot of them at the table where they had their first date.
They are almost too cute!
Continuing the tour of their first date we come to the site of their first kiss.
I love the genuine surprise on Dana’s face here as Alec really sweeps her off her feet.
Love this, Dana is such a natural beauty.
Alec had been bragging about how much he has been working out so I thought we would make things a little interesting here.
I have to say that I am very impressed with those push-ups.
A little play with some reflection.
Lost in the moment…
LOVE this
See, there they go being almost too cute again.
We were all ready to wrap things up and head to Eulogy but the sunset and the sky was too good to pass up so we headed over to Penn’s Landing for a few more shots.
You guys are adorable. I had a wonderful evening with you and look forward to seeing you again in June!
