Baby Marlo, Philadelphia Lifestyle Photography

Marlo, where to begin? She is such a vibrant little girl! One of those babies who is also an old soul, you can totally picture what she is going to be like and look like when she is an old lady. Her parents, Heather and Tedford are dear friends of mine and Marlo is the most fabulous mixture of each of them. I’ve been waiting to do this shoot forever, it was my gift to Heather for her baby shower. Now they are expecting baby number two, a boy! Oh my my my, two Heatherfords running around, watch out world!

You see what I mean about that old soul? Yet all baby.

Chilling with her pals from Yo Gabba Gabba.
Think her parents photographer her much? Nah, haha! Totally a ham for the camera.
In Heather’s old baby Dress. Like mother like daughter. All “tude”. And adorable “tude”.
Love it.
To beat the heat in Philly on a hot summers day, Marlo’s favorite past time is to cool off in the fridge.
hambone much?
The water table has become her personal water seat.
Ah yea, thats better.
Drama queen?Favorite.hehe.Can’t forget the browns. Anthony and Mandy.
Yay! So fabulous to see you guys. Like you haven’t seen enough already? Check out the slideshow!!

Actor Head Shots with Yao Nunoo

A good friend of mine, former colleague from Drexel, and also a past bride Dede recently reached out to me for this project. Dede works in the film industry and is involved in post production work, among many other duties. She recently worked on the film Destiny of Lesser Animals in which Yao has been nominated for Best actor in the 2013 African Film Development Awards. Yao hadn’t had  professional head shots in years so Dede naturally thought of me. Awe thanks!  Its something I haven’t had much experience in honestly, but I know how to take a decent portrait so I thought why not it would be fun. It was so much fun! I didn’t realize how much I needed this slight change of direction. I love photographing my couples, families, babies etc… but it was so refreshing to photograph in a different way. I like to mix it up, I need to mix it up every now and then. Yao was so great, natural and charismatic. He performed a short monologue for us and I got so caught up in it I felt like he was having a direct conversation with me and I had no idea how to respond!! haha!! My assistant Alexa helped out with the lights and Dede was a great art director. Since she knows Yao she helped such a great deal by just talking to him, getting reactions she knew he could provide and was the bridge to make us all feel at home.

This is only a small selection of what we captured the other day. Enjoy!

Michelle & Jace, Northern Liberties Engagement Shoot

I had so much fun with Michelle and Jace. We took pictures around their neighborhood and at their apartment, starting at Standard Tap where they had their first date. We didn’t time things exactly right and the Tap wasn’t open yet so we went over to Johnny Brenda’s for a drink and some photos there since it’s another favorite spot. Plus a cold one on warm day wasn’t a terrible idea. 🙂

After a little tour through the neighborhood we went back to their place to take advantage of the roof deck and to make a little lunch.
Bruce their black lab joined in as well.

Their space is amazing, just wait!!
Fresh Pasta is so so good. Jace is an excellent cook and Michelle is a happy assistant. 🙂
Ugh this space! Such an awesome apartment.
There were a few dirty tricks played. All fun and games right?
Couldn’t resist a little bling in the pasta.
Bruce enjoyed some pasta as well.
Then things got a little dirty! haha! Flour fight!
Bruce got in on that action too.
So much fun you guys! I can’t wait for October.

Gretchen & Sean, Family Style Philadelphia Engagement Shoot

Pete met up with this fun bunch to do a family style engagement shoot in the city. Gretchen and Sean have been together for a long time and married since their first daughter was born, but they never had the wedding, the celebration, the party. At the end of this month they will be having their ceremony at Congress Hall in Cape May. It will be a family event and long awaited party and celebration to remember for sure! Congratulations you guys, the shoot looked like so much fun.

Baby Laila, Philadelphia moodybaby sessions

One of my most adored families. 🙂 I’ve grown close to these guys, Emily and I had an instant connection when she was engaged and looking for a photographer for her wedding and we’ve had so much fun since then! Last time I saw this little munchkin Laila she was just newborn. I had the privilege of documenting her entrance into this world. Emily had a home birth back in May. It was my second home birth and it was totally different than the first one but equally amazing. 🙂

Laila is now six months and delicious.

The mustache onesie to be like daddy.
You guys are adorable as ever.
Laila’s favorite this is the swing.

We are creating quite the athletic family tradition.
